About the Delaware Innovation Fund

The Delaware Innovation Fund (DIF) is a $10 million private 501(c)3 non-profit economic development and venture capital entity established in 1995. The DIF provides counsel, education and selective early-stage investment capital to encourage the growth of seed, start-up and early-stage high technology companies in Delaware and the surrounding Mid-Atlantic region.

"Class I.Q., the predecessor company to Solstice, began to work with the DIF when it applied to present at the 2000 Early Stage East event. From that point forward, the DIF worked closely with founders to help them prepare for the first round of institutional funding and then continued, once that was in place, to further assist them by finding candidates to expand the senior management team, a key requirement for the next stage of growth. The DIF has continued to work closely with us, creating entrees to the larger venture capital firms that were to form the basis of the next round of funding."

Joseph J. Oddo
Former President & CEO, Solstice Software

The DIF provides early-stage investment funding in either the form of equity capital, long-term debt with royalty-based payback, or convertible debentures. The DIF also provides technical assistance through business counseling, entrepreneurial seminars, and its wide network of professional resources.

The Fund has emerged as the leader in venture and entrepreneurial development in Delaware.

Involvement within the Community is important to the Delaware Innovation Fund. Whether participating in educational events or seminars, serving on numerous boards, committees or councils, the DIF is committed to making a valuable contribution to entrepreneurial efforts and economic growth within our community.

The Delaware Innovation Fund is managed by Innovation Capital Advisors, LLC which also manages Innovation Ventures, LP.
